Stuart Easton concerned by chicanes at Caldwell Park
Hawick rider Stuart Easton heads to Cadwell Park for the MCE Insurance round nine on Saturday – but the 26-year-old is not happy about it.
Easton returned to form with two podium finishes in a historic triple header at Brands Hatch but will err on the side of caution in Lincolnshire.
And the Hydrex Honda rider admitted he will have to first master the 2.17mile circuit before he dreams of tasting any podium champagne.
“I do enjoy Cadwell Park – the lap is fine until you get to the new chicane in there and it is another course where we have to deal with a chicane,” said Easton.
“The tracks were always fine but they just seem to keep changing them and the result is that things are much too tight. There is one at Mallory Park, there is one at Silverstone – there are too many.
“I know Yukio Kagayama had an accident there a while ago and that chicane has been full of accidents and I always question why they are there.
“It is frustrating because as a rider we don’t have a say in what goes at all – we just have to get on with it. It is the same for everybody but it is just another obstacle to deal with.”
