Easton set for World Supersport paddock

Hawick's Stuart Easton will announce his plans for 2010 in the coming days after being heavily linked with a move to the World Supersport Championship this week.

The 26-year-old’s exploits during MCE Insurance British Superbike round 11 were largely overshadowed with rumours circulating around the paddock that he would be making a step up next year.

On the track Easton saw his battle for second place with James Ellison all but come to a close after he twice finished agonisingly off the podium in fourth in both races.

Easton now sits 51 points behind Ellison in third with 329 and revealed he will be announcing what the future holds for him in the not so distant future.

“Everything at the moment just isn’t there and we are just a little bit away from reaching a deal,” said Easton.

“There are a lot of possibilities – there are a couple of things going on in the British Championship maybe but then there is also the World Supersport.

“It is a difficult decision for me either way – the Worlds is the big picture but I am getting really good in Britain now and I believe I will get a competitive package."
