Easton not relishing his Mallory Park trip

Hawick's Stuart Easton is not relishing his trip to Mallory Park this weekend as he looks to clinch a first ViSK British Superbike win of the season in Leicestershire.

Easton was left frustrated at Knockhill last time out, finishing second and fourth as runaway BSB championship leader Leon Camier claimed his fourth double of the season.

The 28-year-old Hydrex Honda rider insists the tiniest of margins has thus far prevented him from challenging Camier for top spot.

But with a windy and notoriously tough Mallory Park in wait this weekend, Easton is not convinced his bike is suited to the Leicestershire circuit.

"Mallory will be another tough one, it is so similar to Knockhill ? the track is so close and tight that it makes it very hard to ride around again.

"It is basically a massive load of chicanes with little bits in between it and anyone can brake late.

"So that makes it difficult, there are a few tough corners but as long as you don't go off or do something wrong around them you will be fine.

"We will do the best we can at Mallory but you never know we might surprise ourselves.

"It was nice to be competitive at my home race at Knockhill last time out and hopefully it gave them something to shout about. I want more of the same at Mallory this time round."

Easton is already eyeing the eighth round of the BSB season at Brands Hatch in the first week in August as he plans his assault on Camier and the championship leaders in the second-half of the season.

"I think Mallory will be a tough one this weekend but if we can come away from there with some podiums, I will then be able to really, really look forward to Brands Hatch.

"It is a long track and there are three races there as well, I know I can make an impact but I need to compete and perform at Mallory Park first of all.

"Brands, Cadwell, Croft and Oulton again are the bigger tracks and better tracks and the ones I am most looking forward to, there's still plenty to ride for this season."
