Stuart Easton endures 'nightmare' race in Leicestershire
Hawick's Stuart Easton admitted Round Seven of the ViSK British Superbike Championship at Mallory Park was a "nightmare from start to finish".
The 25-year-old was forced to pull out of race one in Leicestershire when he discovered an oil leak on lap 13.
In the second race, Easton's gamble on his tyre choice backfired when heavy rain forced him to come off after just three laps with the race lasting just 12 more before the red flag came out.
And the Hydrex Honda rider admits the only positive to come out of Mallory Park was his swift exit from the circuit.
"Quite simply I am glad to come away from here," he said. "It really was a nightmare from start to finish.
"I gambled on a harder tyre for race two as it was looking a lot brighter. I thought maybe it would dry quicker than it did.
"The heavens opened on lap three and it was my decision to come in. If I stayed out and persevered maybe I would have been in the points.
"It was a bad day. The reason I came in was looking to come in was third in the Championship and didn't want to take any risks on a wet track."
