Prentice slips down the places after promising start at World Juniors
Scotland’s Freyja Prentice could not recover from a disappointing equestrian ride and finished twelfth overall in the women’s final of the Modern Pentathlon World Junior Championships in Chinese Taipei.
After an encouraging start, with 23 wins from 35 fencing bouts leaving her fifth, she dropped to eleventh after the swim.
Recovering from that position was not out of the question, but the poor score in the equestrian ride meant a medal was out of the reach of the Inverurie athlete.
The third fastest time in the run/shoot propelled her up the field, but the 19 year old just failed to break the top ten.
In the team event Prentice, along with Katy Burke and Charlotte Grandfield, finished a creditable fifth overall.
