Cumbria win keeps Thompson on top
Last weekend saw Tiree based Helen Thompson consolidate her place at the top of the pro-women's fleet when at Barrow, Cumbria she narrowly out scored 2007 amateur champion Hannah Whitley to win the second event of the seven round BKSA series.
20 year-old Glasgow born Thompson will now prepare for the next event (4th-6th July) in Norfolk and will also compete in Scotland later this summer when the 5th round is staged off Aberdeen (22nd-24th August).
However, Thompson isn't the only Brit making waves in the sport.
For at just 19 years old, Aaron Hadlow from England leads the current PKRA rankings. The kite-surfing wunderkind started competing at the age of 11.
For her part, on the freestyle World Cup circuit it's Bruna Kajiya whom Thompson will hope to emulate. The 21 year-old Brazilian leads the women's World Cup series.
