Burton, Clark and Renicks claim World Cup gold in Birmingham
Scotland won three gold medals at the GB World Cup in Birmingham in a successful weekend for British judo.
Olympian Euan Burton scored an impressive ippon over British team-mate Tom Reed in the final of the men's -81kg as he helped the GB team finish with four gold, one silver and four bronze medals.
"I am British number one and I was against an up and coming athlete so there was a lot of pride at stake. But I think it was really good for the British crowd to have an all British final."
Edinburgh's Sarah Clark put her world championship disappointment behind her to beat Hilde Dexler (Austria) in the final of the Under-63kg event after an early scare.
The European silver medallist almost lost the bout when Dexler just missed throwing her but Clark kept her cool and threw Dexler for ippon.
"I feel good," she said, "I am pleased that I gave people something to shout about. My build up has been good all year, it is just a shame that the World Championships weren't as good.
"Looking ahead I need to make sure that I am making progress month by month and I know I have been doing that I just didn't do myself justice at the World Championships."
Dexler won silver with the two bronze medals going to Anne Laure Poli
(France) and Esther Stam (Netherlands).
Coatbridge's Kimberley Renicks won gold in the Under-48kg class with a final win over Ireland's Lia Kearney.
She fought hard throughout the final and when the clock ticked down the gold medal looked to be hers after seeing off a couple of late challenges from her opponent.
Renicks was crowned 2009 GB World Cup Champion with one yuko score.
