Edinburgh Judo Club had a successful weekend at the English Open in Kendal taking several medals.

Graham Trinder won gold in the Under-60kg class and there was also a first for England's Sally Conway, also attached to the Edinburgh club, in the women's Under-70kg class.

James Millar picked up a silver in the men's Under-66kg event and there were bronze medals for Connie Ramsay (Under-63kg) and Lindsay Purves (Under-78kg).

Stephanie Inglis (Scottish Institute) won the women's Under-57kg title and Bath-based Andy Burns had to settle for bronze in the men's Under-90kg behind winner Vasile Panfil (Daventry) and Russian champion Murat Gasiev.
