Edinburgh Capitals have signed Michael Robinson as their netminder for the new campaign.

Robinson spent last season with the Bakersfield Condors where he played 20 games before picking up an injury.

But Captials' ice hockey director Doug Christiansen believes Robinson will be a big player for his team.

"Michel Robinson will be one of the top goalies in the league," he said.

"Championships are won with goaltending and we have a great one. When I heard he was available, he was my top priority.

"Michel is coming off a tough, injury-plagued year. He is hungry to get back to when he was Goalie of the Year in the UHL and the top statistical goalie in Italy the year before that."
