Edinburgh Capitals have announced that Mark Paterson is to return for his third season at the club.

Capitals' coach Doug Christiansen has thrown down the gauntlet to the player to have a bigger impact in the new campaign.

"I am looking for him to have an increased role this season," siad Christiansen, "He is ready for the challenge. Mark is great in the dressing room and is a very bright kid. He always has a smile on his face."

Paterson commented: "Doug has helped me out a lot personally over the last two seasons and the choice to return to Edinburgh was a no-brainer."
