Edinburgh Capitals expect to lose Kyle Horne for up to three weeks after he suffered a foot injury in the weekend loss at Manchester Phoenix.
The full extent of the injury was revealed after an x-ray which showed he had a slight stress fracture.
Horne missed Sunday's match against Hull but the Capitals will be keen to have him back quickly after a disappointing start to the season.
The club is still looking to bring in some new faces in the weeks ahead as it seeks to turn around its fortunes.
