Confident Capitals

Forward Martin Cingel admitted the signs already look good for the Edinburgh Capitals after they picked up three points from their opening two games.

The Capitals got off to a flying start battering Hull Stingrays 9-2 before valiantly falling 4-3 in overtime to Nottingham after coming back from 3-1 down 24 hours later.

Edinburgh lost player-coach Doug Christiansen to broken knee in the clash with Hull – who now faces surgery – but Cingel admitted that was the only disappointment.

Cingel and co have taken to the ice just twice compared to Nottingham who have done so five times, and he said: “We have played exactly as we set out to play – not many

teams will come back from two goals down to take a point from Nottinham.

“We showed great character in overtime and the effort from all the guys has been fantastic and we’ve got three points in the bag which is a great start.”
