Capitals move swiftly

Edinburgh Capitals have moved quickly to sign Mark Garside up for the 2009-10 season.

Garside is going into his fourth season with the club and is regarded as one of the brightest prospects in the Scottish game.

"Mark is one of the cornerstones to our recent success," said Edinburgh director of hockey Doug Christiansen.

"He is a talented young Scottish player who represents his country internationally. I am thrilled to have Mark back. He is a player who works hard at both ends of the ice.

"He has developed into one of our best penalty killers and he has a knack for scoring big goals. His offensive game is vastly improved. I think Mark could have a real breakout season."

Garside was 7th on points for the 2008-09 season with the Capitals and was the top scoring British player with 26 points (from 9 goals and 17 assists) over 59 games.
