Capitals capture former NHL netminder Rudkowsky

Edinburgh coach Doug Christiansen has announced Canadian Cody Rudkowsky as his first-choice netminder for the upcoming season.

Rudkowsky – like most of Christiansen’s recent signings – has a wealth of experience in mid-level professional hockey in America and played once for the St Louis Blues in the NHL.

Christiansen addressed that a netminder had been a long time coming but believes the signature of Rudkowsky will be well worth the wait.

“I know everyone has been waiting for us to sign a goalie – but signing a player like Cody doesn’t happen often,” said Christiansen.

“Sometimes opportunity knocks and you have the chance to bring a start into you team. I have played with Cody before and he is a game breaker.

“He will be our third player who has played in the NHL and I have pursued him the last three summers was very patient to get him this year.”
