Scotland's boys must improve says coach

Scotland's U16 boys team coach Kevin McNab is convinced his youngsters will learn the lessons of their disappointing 4 Nations tournament in Largs after failing to win a single game.

The boys finished in fourth place behind winners England, Ireland in second and Wales third.

The only solace that could be taken from a dismal tournament was a 2-2 draw with the Welsh in their second game.

But despite their 4 Nations body blow - McNab is concentrating on the big picture and is adamant his young charges bounce back stronger.

He said: "Overall, the players learned a lot and will take the experience forward.

"Each game they were so close; it's just about connecting all the individual pieces together to get the whole picture.

Scotland's girls fared much better - with a 3-1 win against Wales and a 2-2 draw with Ireland putting them joint second in their pool.

Coach Richard Davies said:"We'll build on the positives and analyse the negatives.

"The players are happy to have at least one tournament of this kind under their belt now and they look forward to having bigger opportunities further down the line."
