

Scottish keeper McGregor honoured with place in International All Star squad
The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has named Great Britain and Scotland goalkeeper Alistair McGregor in its WorldHockey All Star Team for 2008.
The All Star Team is compiled by hockey experts from across the globe and lists the 18 best players in the world each year.
McGregor was recently named as Great Britain Hockey’s ‘Athlete of the Year’ for his World Class performances at the Olympic qualifying tournament in Chile and the Olympic Games in China.
The 27-year-old Loughborough Students athlete, who has 29 Great Britain caps and 82 for Scotland, is one of only two goalkeepers in the WorldHockey All Star Team.
McGregor is joined in the line-up by British team-mate Barry Middleton, of England, who has also been shortlisted for the FIH World Player of the Year award.
Also in the World All Star Team are four members of Germany’s Gold medal winning side, four of Spain’s silver medal winners, three Dutch, three Australians, one Pakistani and one Korean.
