Irishman wins Scottish award

Michael Watt and Ali Bell have won this year's Scottish Hockey player of the year awards.

Grange striker Watt, an Irish international, is the first foreign player to collect the award after finding the net 17 times in the recently concluded season.

He scored a double in the Scottish Cup final and banked a critical hat-trick against Menzieshill in the league run-in.

Bonagrass Grove`s Bell started the season with four goals in her side's league opener against Dundee Wanderers.

In total she netted 25 times to underline her international credentials ahead of this August's European Nations Championships in Amsterdam.

Watt and Bell receive a £100 voucher from sponsors Gilmour Sports and a trophy from Scottish Hockey.
