Five Scots have been included in the GB squad that will travel to Dusseldorf to compete against World Champions Germany in a three test series, starting on Thursday.

Kelburne duo Mark Ralph and Niall Stott will join their national captain Graham Moodie, ‘keeper Ali McGregor and Inverleith’s Stephen Dick in the Beijing warm-up squad.

Great Britain and Germany are preparing for the Olympic Games in Beijing later this year with both countries only securing qualification for the World’s biggest sporting event recently. 

GB topped their qualifying group in Chile in March and Germany went unbeaten in their bid to book their tickets to Beijing in April.

Team Manager Pete Nicholson said “Having recently qualified for the Beijing Olympics and, after a number of home-based training camps, we are now starting the next phase of our preparation for the Games with three test matches against Germany.   Following their recent Olympic qualification in Japan, in which they did not concede a goal, the Germans will provide us with quality match practice.”
