Grove miss out on play-off chance in Euro Cup Winners' Cup
Scottish champions Bonagrass Grove saw their hopes of reaching the third place play-off go up in smoke at hockey's European Cup Winners' Cup.
Needing a win to meet hosts, English champions Bowdon Hightown, the Dundee-based side started brightly against Cologne's Rot Weiss.
They broke the deadlock when Ailsa Robertson swept home Linda Clement's cross shot at a penalty corner but Lena Arnold equalised for the Germans just before half-time.
And two Andrea Wicken goals in five minutes just after the break broke Bonagrass resolve.
However, Robertson followed up Louise Carrol's penalty corner to reduce arrears in the dying minutes.
The Scottish champions will now play Belgium's Royal Uccle in the fifth place play-off.
Bowdon will play Rot Weiss for third while Amsterdam and Madrid's Club de Campo will contest the final.
