Scotland seek to mark beginning of a new era with Celtic Cup win
Scotland manager Alan Bryce insists it's win or bust at this weekend's Celtic Cup against France, Ireland and Wales.
The competition, set to take place at Peffermill in Edinburgh, will serve as preparation for August's EuroHockey Nations Trophy in Wrexham, and Bryce believes the addition of new coach Jon Royce will prove pivotal.
"It would be disappointing not to win the Celtic Cup; we've prepared well over the last few months," said Bryce.
"It's exciting; we're stepping into new territory with a new coach and a new approach.
"The men are now playing to a new tempo. We've changed roles around on the pitch and the squad is playing more fluid and skilful hockey."
Also in action will be Scotland women as they also continue their preparations for a European assault later this summer.
And coach Keith Joss has selected a strong squad including Laura Bartlett, Holly Cram, Nikki Kidd and Aimee Clarke, who makes her first international appearance since knee surgery.
"I hope the players are enthused by playing in front of crowd and that they will carry this through to this weekend and beyond," said Joss.
