McMillan breaks new ground

Edinburgh-born Dan McMillan has become the first Scot to play in the Bundesliga - but he could not prevent TUSEM Essen losing 41-23 to TV Grosswallstadt.

Fellow-Scot Chris Mohr missed out on his debut through injury.

Meanwhile, the Great Britain Olympic programme has suffered a setback after losing two top coaches.

GB men's head coach Carsten Albreksten has quit to concentrate on domestic duties with Danish League leaders BSV Silkeborg and assistant Claus Hansen has departed to coach the Danish Under-19 squad.

It leaves GB looking to appoint two new coaches as the programme reaches a pivotal stage.
