GB reach group stages
Lynn McCafferty leads Team GB to first-ever European Championships
Lynn McCafferty captained Great Britain to their finest hour as they qualified for the European Championship group stages with a win over Finland.
After leading 17-14 from the first leg in Helsinki, the GB team completed the job with a narrow 24-23 win in the second leg in Liverpool.
McCafferty helped steady the nerves early on as she fired the third goal to put her side 3-0 ahead. It was 22-22 going into the final two minutes but GB held their nerve.
They now progress to the group stages for the first time where they will meet Austria, France and Iceland.
