Players continue to ride the learning curve in bid for Olympic success
Scot Bill Baillie - manager of the GB men's team - has expressed himself satisfied with the three-match tour of Oman as his players gear themselves to 2012.
The GB team lost two of their three matches to the Oman national team (23-29, 28-22, 20-27) but Baillie knows it was an important learning curve for his players.
“The objectives of the camp were to expose the players to the Asian style of handball and the difficulties of playing in those environments such as climate, food, travel and cultural differences," he explained.
“For many of the players this was there first real experience of international handball and it proved invaluable in giving the players this opportunity.
“Oman are preparing for the Gulf Handball Championships in January and were well into their preparations.
"They proved good opponents and were at a level that tested the players and gave the coaching staff a good look at where GB strengths and weaknesses lay.”
