Scottish Gymnastics have appointed Caitriona O'Shea as their new chief executive officer.

O'Shea has been with the governing body since 2004 and worked as coaching and development director and then performance director.

As performance director - to which she was appointed last year - she was responsible for leading the development, implementation and co-ordination of the performance strategies. 

"Caitriona has gained valuable experience throughout these roles which will enable her to do a fantastic job leading the association," a spokesperson for the governing body said.

"We all wish her well and offer our continued support."
