Dan Purivs looks forward to making World Championship debut
Scottish Champion Daniel Purvis faces a caereer highlight this week when he makes his debut as a British team member at the world championships at the O2 Arena in London.
The event is to be broadcast by the BBC, and the 17-year-old said: "I'm so excited to be competing in London, it's a huge motivation to be competing in front of a home crowd."
For Southport-based Purvis, the Championships will be a great experience and will help his preparations towards next year’s Commonwealth Games in Delhi and, hopefully, his Olympic debut in London in three years’ time.
Fellow-Scot Danny Keatings, who made the all-round final at last year’s Olympics in Beijing, will be one of the leading lights. The 19-year-old has already won medals at European Championships – a step onto the podium at world level would be a massive achievement.
