Misery for Mackay

Beacon's Magalie Mackay had to pull out of the British Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Stoke at the eleventh hour due to illness.

It was hugely disappinting for the gymnast who was tipped in some quarters to win the event in the absence of defending champion Francesca Jones (injury).

Sixteen year-old Francesca Fox (City of Bath) sent on to take the title in the absence of the duo.

She recorded a total of 48.650 points to win the title comfortably.
