Glasgow's Kelvin Hall is gearing up to stage the 21st World Championships and 5th World Age Group Championships in Acrobatic Gymnastics from October 3-12.

Great Britain's is fielding a large squad of forty-six - unfortunately no Scots in the team - and will be looking to finish among the medals. It will be a great opportunity for Scots to watch the world best in action - and for Scottish acrobats to get a flavour of the big-time.

"At the moment everything is on track and we expect all of our senior gymnasts to have a great chance to medal," said Matei Todorov, the Technical Director of British Acrobatics. 

"The men's four look great as do the women's trio who took Gold at the last years European Championships. The women's pair have traditionally always been in a medal position and a new men's partnership is also looking very positive.

"Basically, I think we can be very positive of some great results for Britain. Looking at the competition we have Russia, China, Ukraine, Belarus and ourselves as all being big contenders for podium places."

Great Britain dominated the Age-Group Championships at the last world championships, and hope to do the same again in Glasgow. 

The Championships are a qualifying event for next year's World Games in Taipei.
