Danny Keatings and Daniel Purvis represent Scotland in GB team for European Championships
Olympian Danny Keatings and Scottish Champion Daniel Purvis are the two Scots in the six-strong British team for the European Championships in Milan next month.
Keatings was just 17 when he became the youngest ever British medallist at the Championships two years ago. He took silver on the pommel horse.
Last year, the Huntingdon-based gymnast won the overall individual title and led GB to victory at the European Junior Championships.
It is a first European Championship for Southport-based Southport – and it is confirmation that Scotland will have at least two medal contenders at next year’s Commonwealth Games in India.
Olympic medallist and Keatings’ clubmate, Louis Smith, heads the GB team for Milan, and the other three selected gymnasts are Luke Folwell, Theo Sager and Kristian Smith.
