Scots account for 20% of British team for Gran Canaria competition
Five Scots have been named in the British team for this month’s International training camp and Friendly Competition at Maspalomas in Gran Canaria.
Lee Davidson and Jonathon Mackie, both coached by Angela Turner at the City of Glasgow Club, will compete in the men’s artistic.
In the women’s event, City of Glasgow’s Sammi-Jo McBride and heather Sturdy are joined by Holly Cantrill, who is coached by her Mum, Pam, at the Tyock Club in Elgin.
In all, 25 Britons will be taking place in an event that includes men’s and women’s artistic, women’s rhythmic and trampolining. The Friendly Cup takes place from November 26-29.
Angela Turner has been selected as one of the 14 members of the coaching panel.
