Galashan twins finish short of silverwear at FINA World Series in Sheffield
Identical twins Helen and Carol Galashan had a mixed day in the 10m synchro platform final at the FINA World Series in Sheffield - finishing just outside the medals in fourth.
The Scottish pair only switched sports from gymnastics two years ago and attempted their unique and trademark armstand back double somersault with one-and-a-half twists but failed to land it.
Xang Win and Kang Li took gold as Chinese divers won every title available at Ponds Forge.
"It was a good experience for us and to get fourth was beyond what we really expected," said Helen.
"It's a shame that one dive didn't come off but we're pleased we gave it a go. Some of the other girls came up to us afterwards and said they were impressed by it.
"They said they are going to try and practise it now, so we'll see what happens the next time we are in competition with them."
