Keatings a part of British Gymnastic Revolution
Beijing has been an historic occasion with Louis Smith winning a bronze medal on the Pommel Horse - the first Briton in 100 years to win a medal - and Danny Keatings (the first Scot to make an Olympics) taking 20th place in the all-round event.
Keatings was the youngest men's competitor at just 18. He is the European Junior Champion and looks to be a real hot prospect for London 2012.
Adding to the tartan promise for the next Olympics is the fact that the reserve for Beijing was Scottish Champion Daniel Purvis.
Britain won this year's European Junior Men's Team Championship for a first time and it seems that the spurt started by Beth Tweddle - she became the first Briton to win a world championship medal two years ago - is now spreading rapidly throughout the ranks.
It is also great for Scotland's prospects for both the 2010 and 2014 Commonwealth Games.
British gymnastics is already calling "roll on 2012."
