Keatings back in action in Glasgow after Olympic parade
A day after the GB Olympic team parade in London, Scot Danny Keatings is aiming to make a hit in his home country at this weekend’s Glasgow Grand Prix at the Kelvin Hall in Glasgow.
“Yesterday was great, on the float and meeting the Queen at Buckingham Palace,” said the 18-year-old.
“But now I am really looking forward to competing again. Glasgow is my first major event since the Beijing Olympics and it will be good to test my fitness and just get back into the routine.
“I’m only competing on my favourite apparatus – the Pommel Horse – and my aim is to do wel enough to make the World Cup finals in Madrid in December. As long as I make the top eight, it should be good enough.”
With Keatings’ Huntingdon clubmate – Olympic bronze medalist Louis Smith – also competing on the Pommel Horse, it promises to be a great weekend for the Kevin Hall audience.
Scotland's Commonwealth medallist Adam Cox will also be making his comeback to the competitive circuit after injury, where he will be joined by the likes of Croatian Robert Seligman, the current European bronze medallist.
