Young Scottish duo set sights on success at British Championships
Scots Danny Keatings and Adam Cox had mixed results at the Glasgow Grand Prix – but both are looking forward to making a mark at the forthcoming British Championships in London.
Cox was a finalist in the high bar at the Kelvin Hall, and had a spectacular routine before falling on the final element.
“But now I’m looking forward to the British Champs," said the 21-year-old, who has recently returned to action following a shoulder operation but will face ankle surgery next month.
“I’ve also got the Northern European Championships before the operation and it’s nice to have some competition at the end of a tough year. Hopefully, next year will be injury-free”
Keatings, the Olympic all-round finalist, slipped up in qualification in his favourite event, the pommel horse, at the Kelvin Hall, but he saw it as little more than a post-Beijing blip.
In fact, it could be the perfect spur for the 18-year-old to produce his best form at the British Championships where he will be u against his Huntingdon clubmate and Olympic bronze medallist, Louis Smith.
