

Matthew slips back after rousing start in South Korea
Tied for third place after an opening 67, Scotland’s Catriona Matthew tumbled back with a second round 79 at the LPGA Tour’s Hana Bank KOLON Championship in South Korea.
On two over par 146, the North Berwick 40-year-old, the reigning Ricoh Women’s British Open Champion, was tied for 29th place and seven strokes behind the joint leaders, South Korea’s Na Yeon Choi (71) and Taiwan’s Yani Tseng (70).
At the Suzhou Taihu Ladies’ Open in China on the Ladies’ European Tour, Musselburgh rookie Vikki Laing and the experienced Clare Queen were the two Scots to make the cut.
Laing had a great comeback second round of 69, while Queen had a 73 and they shared 37th spot on three over par 147. Lynn Kenny, the third Scot in the field, missed the cut by one shot after a second successive round of 76.
South Korean Bob Mi Suh, with two rounds of 69, led on six under par and by two strokes from France’s Carmen Alonso (68) and Australian Frances Bondad (70).
