Scottish born Michael Sim promoted to PGA Tour
Aberdeen-born golfer Michael Sim admitted his dream year just got better after securing his place on the PGA tour.
Sim, who has lived in Australia since he was five-years-old, won his third Nationwide Tour of the season in Kansas which automatically earned him a ‘battlefield promotion’ to compete with the cream of the crop in the USA.
And having already sampled the big time after competing in the USA PGA Championship and US Open, 24-year-old Sim cannot wait to take his place on the prestigious PGA tour in October.
“So far I have won on the Nationwide, made the cut in two majors, achieved the goals I set for the year and it is only August,” said Sim who has overcome a stress fracture in his spine. “The list just goes on.
“At the start of the year all I had was a conditional Nationwide Tour card and to get the results I have, it is simply awesome.
“It’s been a great three-and-half years and everything has fallen into place nicely. Overall my game has improved in all aspects and I feel I’m at the stage where I belong and can seriously compete out on the main tour.”
