Scottish pair make the cut

Scotland’s Kylie Walker (Buchanan Castle) and teenager Carly Booth (Comrie) stayed on course to make it through to the final stage of the Ladies’ European Tour Qualifying School after solid second rounds at the pre-qualifying at La Manga in Spain.

Walker posted a one over par 72 over the tricky North Course and was in the top ten and just four strokes behind the lead shared by American Kristie Smith and Spain’s Maria Hernandez Munoz on four under par.

Seventeen-year-old Booth had a 73 over the same course and was in joint 20th place and comfortably inside the top 46 that will make it through after the final round.

Katy McNicoll, the third Scot in the field, missed the cut that reduced the field to 70 players after rounds of 83 and 78. On 17 over, she was six shots too many.

Scots Pamela Feggans and Clare Queen, who both failed to retain their cards this season, are already into the final stage that will take place over four rounds from Friday.
