

Queen and Kenny going strong at halfway point of Australian Open
Lynn Kenny and Clare Queen were both inside the top 15 at the halfway stage of the Australia Women’s Open at the Metropolitan Club in Melbourne.
Over on the LPGA Tour in America, Janice Moodie launched her season with a fine one under par 71 and was joint 22nd in the SBS at Turtle Bay in Hawaii.
South Korea’s Chang Hee-Lee led Down Under on seven under par after rounds of 69 and 70. England’s Georgina Simpson, (68) Spain’s Tania Elosegui (72) and four time winner Karrie Webb (75) shared second spot on five under.
Kenny had two successive scores of 72 for two under and a share of 12th place while Queen was another stroke behind in joint 14th after tagging a 75 to her first day 70.
Angela Stanford led in Hawaii on seven under par 65 – and it was also a great start to Michelle Wie’s rookie season.
The 19-year-old superstar shot 66 and was tied for second with world No.2, Yani Tseng.
