Three way split for Scots in Switzerland
Three Scots - Jenna Wilson, Clare Queen and Lynnn Kenny - were all tied on one over par 145 at the halfway stage as Norway's Suzann Pettersen took a firm grip on the Swiss Open at Losone yesterday.
Pettersen, the world No.3, equalled the course record of 63 to post a 14 under par total.
Wilson, the Scottish rookie from Strathaven, followed her opening 74 with a fine five birdie 71 to make her second cut in five starts, while Queen had a 72 and Kenny had a 74. They were just inside the top 50.
Kathryn Imrie, who had been so pleased to return to form with a top six finish at this month's Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies' Scottish Open at the Carrick, Loch Lomond, was not so lucky. She comfortably missed the cut.
Elsewhere, American Erica Blasberg shot a 65 to lead after the first round of the Corning Classic in New York, while Scotland's Mhairi McKay was in a tie for 15th on 70.
McKay had three birdies in the final five holes to share the top British spot with Wales' Becky Morgan. They were one ahead of Glasgow's Janice Moodie.
