Scotland's amateurs face professional test

Scotland’s top three amateurs - Pamela Pretswell, Kylie Walker and Sally Watson – will get a taste for the professional lifestyle when they take part in next week’s AIB Irish Open at Portmarnock.

The trio have been invited to the Ladies’ European Tour event along with their colleagues in the GB and Ireland team for the Vagliano Trohy in Hamburg next month.

“It is great to get the chance to play inIreland,” said Sally, who has just returned home after having graduated from the IMG David Leadbetter Golf Academy in Florida.

The 17-year-old will be at home for the summer before returning to America in September to take up a golf scholarship at Stanford University in California.

Kylie will have added incentive to do well next week. She missed out on her LET Tour card at the qualifying in January – but hopes to be on the circuit next year.
