Scottish teenager Sally Watson was tied for fifth place after an opening one under par 71 in the Kathy Whitworth Invitation Tournament at Mira Vista Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.

Continuing her comeback from major knee surgery, the 17-year-old Curtis Cup player from Elie was just two shots behind the leader, Californian Jane Rah. Watson is the only British player in the 73-strong field.
