Ramsay bid for Dunhill glory postponed by stormy weather
Richie Ramsay will have to wait another 24 hours to continue his challenge for the Dunhill Links Championship after gale force winds caused Saturday's play to be abandoned.
The Aberdonian carried on his stunning return to top form with a second
round 66 at St Andrews and shares the lead at the halfway stage with Rory McIlroy and Michael Hoey.
But the change in weather means the 26-year-old will continue his challenge on the Sunday with the event now finishing 24-hours later than scheduled on Monday.
And Ramsay, who would secure his European Tour card for next season with a high finish, believes his frequent trips to America have taught him to be positive.
"You have to be positive all of the time and try to keep that Scottish
scepticism from creeping back in," Ramsay said.
"I just need to keep the attitude the same and keep it going by not
concentrating on getting numbers.
"Our players here are technically just as good, but the Americans believe in themselves a lot more. I love going there. It is a fantastic place and it has definitely helped me."
