Ramsay delighted with late Wentworth call

Richie Ramsay insists he's ready and raring to go after getting a late call-up to the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.

The 25-year-old needed three players to drop out at the start of the week but a series of injuries have given Ramsay his chance.

Ramsay got the nod when Justin Rose's back problem forced him to pull out on Wednesday and the former US Amateur champion has vowed to grab his chance at the $4m tournament.

"I've watched this tournament for years on the TV so everything is familiar but I've only ever walked the course so the first shot I will hit on the course will be my opening tee shot," said Ramsay.

"This is the kind of tournament you want to play in, against the world's best on one of the best courses in the world.

"It's a really tight course, much tighter than it appears on the TV but I'm really happy with the way I've been playing and I'm looking forward to it.

"I'm grateful to get the opportunity to play in this tournament and I'm looking to compete."
