Queen's stock rising on European tour
Scotland's Clare Queen matched has risen to No.19 on the Ladies' European Tour following a career best result tie for sixth in the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies' Scottish Open at the Carrick last week, and she is hoping to rise even further after this week's Garanti American Turkish Open in Antalya.
"My goal now is at least to stay in the top 20 for the rest of the season," said the 25-year-old, who was 39th on the Order of Merit last year. "Last week was great. I was in contention in the final day and felt that I coped really well. I want to have a chance to win more often."
Strathaven's Jenna Wilson, last year's Scottish Amateur Champion, made her first cut as a Tour rookie at the Carrick, and is also aiming to build on the experience, while Lynn Kenny is the third Scot in the field for the inaugural Turkey event.
Meanwhile, on the LPGA Tour, North Berwick's Catriona Matthew, who was third three years ago, heads the Scottish challenge. She is joined by Janice Moodie and Mhairi McKay.
Norway's Suzann Pettersen defends the title, while 18-year-old Michelle Wie will be attempting another comeback from an 18-month slump in form. The teenage superstar has spent the last month practising in Orlando and is hoping that recent wrist problems are now a thing of the past.
