Queen's bright start

Scot Clare Queen was tied for sixth place after an opening four under par 68 in the UNIQA Open in Austria and she was just two strokes behind the Australian leader, Karen Lunn.

Queen, who was also in the top ten after the opening day of the European Tour event in Denmark last week before finishing joint 21st, had a handful of birdies and highlighted her round with an eagle two at the par four 11th.

Scottish rookie Jenna Wilson, who had a top 30 finish in Denmark, continued an improved run of form with a 71 and found herself alongside the defending champion, Laura Davies. But Lynn Kenny, the third Scot in the field, could do no better than 77.

Lunn, a former Women's British Open Champion, had a flawless six birdie round and led by one from a group of four, while Queen was joined by Wales' Lydia Hall as the leading British performers.
