Pamela Pretswell is leading qualifer after second round of Championship
Pamela Pretswell (Bothwell Castle), who is playing in the event for a first time, was the leading qualifier on two over par 148 after a super second round of one under par 72 at the Scottish Women’s Amateur Championship at Southerness.
With the top 32 players going forward to the matchplay stages, Pamela finished three strokes ahead of last year’s SLGA Order of Merit winner, Kylie Walker (Buchanan Castle).
Other notable names through to the knock-out stages are the Scottish Under-21 Strokeplay Champion, Kelsey MacDonald (Nairn Dunbar), former champion Martine Pow (Selkirk) and the hugely promising 14-year-old Lesley Atkins (Minto).
Lesley, who also plays table tennis at international level, recently won the Borders Women’s County Championship.
