Moodie in Japan

Janice Moodie carries Scotland’s hopes in the Mizuno Classic in Japan, and she is aiming to build on a great end to the season.

The Glasgow golfer earned her place in the elite line-up after finishing in the top five at the Navistar LPGA Classic last month.

“That result got me in this week and it’s always nice to get a place in the small field end of season tournaments,” said. Moodie. “It means you have had a good season.”

Moodie, who has played well ever since the Solheim Cup at the end of August, has earned around £125,000 this season and is at No.58 on the LPGA Tour’s money list.

Catriona Matthew is the top Scot at No.26 with £275,000 – she has only played in eight tournament following the birth of second daughter, Sophie, in May, But, of course, she achieved a career highlight by winning the major, the Ricoh Women’s British Open, at Royal Lytham and St Annes in August.
