McKay chasing American fortune

Mhairi McKay is the only Scot competing in this week's LPGA State Farm Classic in Illinois.

Scottish No.1 Catriona Matthew is back in Scotland as she prepares for the European double of next week's Evian Masters in France followed by the Ricoh Women's British Open at Sunningdale starting on July 31.

She will then defend the Scandinavian TPC Championship in Sweden.

Glasgow's Janice Moodie, currently No.63, is also skipping the State Farm Classic in preparation for the European swing.

Matthew has moved up to No.39 in the latest LPGA rankings, but McKay is down at No.104 and needs some good results to make sure of keeping her card for next year.
