Catriona Matthew makes the top ten of LPGA Challenge in California
Scotland’s Catriona Matthew had six birdies in a final round 67 to clinch a top ten finish at the LPGA Tour’s CVS Pharmacy LPGA Challenge at Blackhawk in California.
Enjoying a superb end of season run following her win in the Ricoh Women’s British Open Championship, the 40-year-old tied for ninth place on 11 under par.
Matthew was the leading British player, while the title went to her European Solheim Cup colleague, Sophie Gustafson. The popular Swede fired a final round 68 for 20 under par and won by four strokes from world No.1, Lorena Ochoa, who closed with a 72.
Janice Moodie, the second Scot in the field. Had a last day 72 and tied for 36th place on three under par.
