Matthew out - but McKay stays in

McKay makes the cut but Matthew misses out in France
It's never been her favourite tournament, and Scot Catriona Matthew bowed out at the halfway stage of the Evian Masters after a second round 74 and a five over par total left her one shot outside the cut.
Mhairi McKay, the second Scot in the field, did make it into the weekend, but was well down the field on two over par.
Brazilian teenager Angela Park was 12 shots better that McKay after a 68 and she led at halfway by one from veteran Swede Helen Alfredsson, who continued a run of excellent form with a course record 63.
Surprisingly, first round leader and world No.1 Lorena Ochoa followed a 65 with a 73 and was four shots off the pace on six under.
With 19 wins and almost as many injuries in her 19 years as a professional, 43-year-old Alfredsson is definitely in the twilight of her career. But she finished second in last month's US Women's Open and the nine birdie round played in McKay's company suggested she could win a third Evian title this weekend.
The winner of the in the inaugural 1994 Masters, win No.2 followed in 1998. "I just love this place and look forward to coming here every year," said Alfredsson. "I also had a wonderful group today. Mhairi and Sherri (Steinhauer) are a lot of fun and we laughed a lot. But I've not really been healthy for the past 15 years. Now I am and that's the difference."
