

Catriona Matthew looking in tip top shape at Canadian Open
Scotland’s Catriona Matthew was in the top ten after a n opening round of three under par 68 at the CN Canadian Open at Priddis Green Golf Club in Calgary. She was four shots behind the surprise leader, Australia’s Anna Rawson.
Matthew, who won the Ricoh Women’s British Open last month, had five birdies, including three in a great outward half of 32, and was tied for ninth place and the joint top Briton alongside Karen Stupples, who recently won the Wales Ladies’ Championship of Europe.
Janice Moodie, the second Scot in the field and a team mate of Matthew’s at the Solheim Cup last month, had a level par 71 and was just inside the top 50.
Rawson, a part-time model, has nine birdies in her bid for a first LPGA Tour title and she led by one from Norway’s Suzann Pettersen, with world No.1 Lorena Ochoa another shot behind and in a tie for third place.
